About the Journey
The desire to begin speedskating actually began in 2013. After returning from Europe, however, my family had to create a means to live back home in San Diego. After some rough times, the desire to skate once again returned and I took a step in faith to begin the journey. Without knowing anyone, I found an outdoor pack on Coronado to skate with every Saturday. This led to learning about Skateworld and coach Shawn Collins, who began the Synergy Racing indoor practice every Sunday in Linda Vista. Coach Shawn introduced me to Kelly Springer, Synergy Racing coach in Colorado, as well as current Team USA head coach. Coach Kelly introduced me to Patrick Wentland, current ice club coach of Colorado Gold Speedskating and former national team ice coach.
i still have no idea how far this journey can go, but I am looking forward to seeing how the Lord leads.

SDSE has provided me with fundamental coaching beginning June 2nd 2018. I would say the most influential team skater has been Linus Harth, he has been there since day one, taking time to teach and give pointers, evaluate, and offer additional coaching tips. Around August, Linus mentioned a new Indoor Team in San Diego and shortly after, I met Shawn Michael Collins. Synergy Racing Shawn Collins heads up the Synergy San Diego program, which is a branch from Synergy Colorado. In a short period of time, Shawn has provided the biggest jolt of energy and growth that I could ever imagine. Thanks coach, your investment into my growth and life cannot be described in words. Thanks to Coach Shawn, I've met Kelly Springer, my Synergy Colorado coach. Through Kelly, I have an open invitation to train inline at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, and hopefully someday I can start getting regular visits out. (This of course requires even more support) |
